OM-D firmware 1.6 released

Olympus has released firmware version 1.6 today.

You can update your firmware on Olympus cameras and lenses by using the Olympus Digital Camera Updater. The updater also works on Panasonic lenses when connected using an Olympus body.

Version 1.6 updates:

  • The highlight and shadow control function was modified so the exposure settings are applied correctly at ISO 2000 or higher.
  • The issue that occasionally prevented operations during long exposures was resolved.

Thanks for the heads up, but kind of a “non update” update for me… Was hoping it would include the smaller focus area box.

I just updated to 1.4 – 1.6 was not even an option …Did I miss it somehow?

Did you try updating again? If you had a really old version then it may not be an option to upgrade from say 1.1 to 1.6. You have to first update to 1.4 and then you should be able to update to 1.6. That happened to me when I tried to update to 1.5. I was on 1.2 and it made me update to 1.4 before I had the option to update to 1.5.
