Great Place for Camera Gear

Having shopped (and made purchases at) several “Camera Superstores” I have found one that has something often missing from the online shopping experience – excellent customer service. My recommendation of Unique Photo is from my heart and my desire to share a great experience (several great experiences) with you. They did not pay me for this endorsement for that matter, as I write they don’t know that I’ve made this little post.

    Unique Photo is excellent, and only a 45 minute drive from my parents house in NJ (I try to make it out whenever I’m there for extended periods, which is pretty frequently).

    But even better they throw excellent events like last weekend’s New Jersey Camera Show.

    They’re a real competitor to B&H and Adorama, and if you live in New York, you’ll get similar low prices but no sales tax when they ship. And frankly, even though Adorama has pretty good customer service, B&H is also excellent.

    Cameta on Long Island is also excellent. In the NYC Metro Area we really have a lot of great camera stores.

    I’ll put in a plug for my local shop, Milford Photo in Milford, CT. I bought almost exclusively from B&H/Adorama in the past, but since I moved to Milford, I started spending time at the shop, and have become a regular. When I switched from Canon to the OM-D, they were there for me every step of the way – I’ve purchased two OM-Ds, an HLD-6, FL-300 and FL-600 strobes, a couple batteries, and a few lenses at Milford Photo this year – their level of service and knowledge (you won’t find a more knowledgeable Olympus guy than Chris Fontes) is worth paying sales tax for.
