Deal Alert – Olympus FL600R

As you know I’m a big fan of this little flash, the Olympus FL600R. It’s small, powerful for its size and works wirelessly too. I used two of them to shoot the Miami People issue for Village Voice media over the summer. I could have used any lights but I wanted something powerful and compact and the FL600R fit the bill.

    My GH3 is due to arrive Wednesday, so I might as well get one. I have been keeping an eye out for a discount price for a while, but haven’t seen a trustworthy one.

        I’ve got my GH3 and My FL-600R. Now all I have to do is learn how to use them. The FL-600R is very compact compared to the FL-50R.

    How does this work with your G5? Any issues? Is exposure compensation easy to use with this set up?

      The flash will work with all G5 functions. Just slide it on the hot shoe and you’re golden. The G5 does not wireless TTL but it will work with all other functions of the flash. BTW you can use a TTL cord for off camera flash as well.

      It’s a great option for the GH3. I’ve used the Panasonic FL360L on a shoot with the GH3 yesterday and its identical to the FL600R. All wireless TTL functions work 100% since they are the same unit.
