Blackmagic’s Pocket Cinema Camera gets spotted at NAB

Here’s an exciting tidbit coming out of this year’s NAB conference, a promotional poster featuring Blackmagic’s Pocket Cinema Camera was spotted  on the exhibition floor by Twitter user Danielo Garcia. Garcia was kind enough to share his find with the world (and we’re oh-so-grateful here at SCBP) and the spec sheet is impressive to say the least.

Here’s the spec list (get your wallets ready hybrid pros):

  • Super-16 1080HD Sensor
  • 13 stops dynamic range
  • Lossless CinemaDNG RAW recording
  • Active MFT lens compatibility
  • HDMI monitoring with overlays

Unlike its bigger brother, the Pocket will allow you to use SD cards for recording (instead of the hot-swappable SSD system) and all for the ridiculously low price of $995. If you’re an indie filmmaker or looking to step up your hybrid business, the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera may be the rig you’ve been waiting for.

Wow if that is anywhere near as good as the Cinema Cam it’s going to be amazing for video work. Awesome price!
